James McLellan’s apprenticeship commenced in 2001 with St Blaise a company that specialised in the conservation of historic buildings. This gave him the opportunity to gain experience working on buildings, such as Windsor Castle, Thomas Hardy’s House at Max Gate (National Trust), Kingston Lacy (National Trust), Corfe Castle (National Trust), and numerous listed manor houses, ecclesiastical and historic buildings.
This is where he discovered his passion for traditional carpentry and building, appreciating the attention to detail in period architecture.
His versatile use of skills are also utilised to make modern contemporary buildings working with new materials and technology.
James has become known for building unique, innovative and sustainable buildings, and has experience working on unusual and challenging projects.
James and his team can provide a full design and build service from concept to completion using his network of architects and skilled tradesmen or is happy to work with your chosen contractors.
